⏰ Drop off time for entries is between 8:15 - 9:15am. With judging starting at 9:30am.
Please drop off your entries to the Craft & Cookery Tent, you can access this through the small gate opposite the Playpark which will open directly into the tent.

🙂 🍰🎉 Join the Fun at the Skye agricultural show Cookery Competition! 🎉🍰
Calling all bakers, young and old! I'm thrilled to announce that I will be judging this year's Skye Show Cookery Competition and we need your delicious entries to make it a fantastic event! 📅 Date: 3rd August 📍 Location: King George Playing Fields
Children’s Cookery Section:
Entries will be judged in Preschool, P1 to P4, P5 to P7, and High School categories.
- Class 1 (Pre-school): 2 x Rice Crispy Cakes
- Class 2 (P1 to P4): 3 x Fairy Cakes
- Class 3 (P5 to P7): 4 x Iced Gingerbread Men
- Class 4 (High School): Set Recipe Raspberry Ripple Cookies from the Hebridean Baker
Adult Cookery Section:
Open to all bakers aged 16 and above.
- Class 5: 8oz Victoria Sponge
- Class 6: 4 pieces of Millionaire’s Shortbread
- Class 7: 2lb Gingerbread
- Class 8: A Savoury Bread (any form)
- Class 9: Jar of Jam
- Class 10: Jar of Marmalade
- Class 11: Jar of Chutney
- Class 12: Set Recipe Shearing Cake from the Hebridean Baker
🎟 Entry Fee: 50p per entry – Please bring correct change.
🏆 Prizes:
- 1st Place: £3.00
- 2nd Place: £2.00
- 3rd Place: £1.00
📋 Note: All entries must be homemade and presented on a white plate (paper, china, or plastic). Jars must be a glass jar. Ensure your 'entry label' (see cookery competition page for labels) is folded and taped to the bottom of the plate/jar. Come showcase your baking skills and have a chance to win fabulous prizes. Whether you're a seasoned baker or just starting out, we welcome all entries and look forward to tasting your delightful creations! Let's make this year’s competition the best one yet! The Clan - Scotland's Cycle Stunt Team - at Skye Show 2024

We are so excited to have 'The Clan Stunt Show' as our main attraction this year!! The Clan is a cycle stunt team formed in 2008. Consisting of the finest bike riders from Scotland and beyond who put on amazing stunt shows across the UK. They have performed over 1000 thrilling shows, definitely not one to be missed!
They will be doing three performances on show day.
~ 11:30am
~ 1:30pm
~ 3:30pm
Please note times may be subject to change, but we will try our best to keep things running to schedule.

EDP Renewables - a Sponsor of Skye Show 2024

We have kindly received sponsorship from EDP Renewables for the second year in a row! They have sponsored all the livestock prize money. EDP Renewables is the world's fourth largest producer of wind and solar energy and is developing renewable projects on Skye. EDPR have also just joined a new partnership with UHI North, West and Hebrides meaning a variety of courses will be offered to residents of the island at half price in order to give them the opportunity to develop new skills. We have been very kindly donated Crystalyx vouchers and some ear warmers to go along with various sheep & cattle class prizes. Crystalyx have been donating vouchers for a good few years now, which is very much appreciated. Crystalyx supplies a high energy form of supplementation to the main forage diets of cows, beef, sheep, goats, and deer in a very palatable form. Dunvegan Castle and Gardens - a Sponsor of Skye Show 2024

We are delighted to have received sponsorship from Dunvegan Castle and Gardens for Skye Show 2024. Dunvegan Castle and Gardens are open between April 1st and October 15th each year. Parking is free and there is a restaurant in the car park where food and drinks are available all day. Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been home to the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for 800 years. The castle is open daily from 10:00am until 5:30pm to visitors (last entry at 5pm). The castle employs guides to help with questions you may have.

NOVICE SHEEP SECTION

Message from the Committee:
Sheep

Did you know that the novice sheep section is open to any age as long as you haven't competed in the open sections previously! If you are under the age of 16 you can compete in the novice section as many times as you like AND the sheep can be shown undressed/unclipped! If you have ever fancied showing sheep but not sure where to start we, along with Dunvegan Show, have decided to come together to offer a brief introduction to showing sheep (numbers permitting). This will be open to all ages from primary school up.

Message from the Committee: 'Craft for a Cause 2024'

Skye and Lochalsh Young Carers
The Craft for a Cause Competition special this year is...'Snuggle Blanket for a Skye and Lochalsh Young Carer'
Calling all knitters, quilters, crocheters and weavers.
This year’s competition is to make a small blanket or quilt to give to a young carer – a “snuggle”. This could be quilted, knitted, crocheted, or woven. By using left over yarn or fabric scraps, it hopefully won’t be expensive to make – but will be a gift of time and love.
We’re looking for something that can be used to snuggle up under, on the sofa. A comforter – not a full sized blanket. In size, maybe about one metre wide and one and half metres long. There’s no set rule on size – just something someone can snuggle up under.
Young carers are boys and girls ranging from as young as five, right up to young adults. Please aim for colours that would suit either a boy or a girl. It is hoped that your gift will turn in to a treasured keepsake, long after the carer is grown up – so please don’t get too concerned about it being specifically for a child of a particular age.
