Message from the committee:

'It possibly won't surprise you to hear that in light of everything going on, the committee has been giving some serious thought to this year's show.
While it's a wee while away yet, we need to act responsibly now.

At this moment, it is looking increasingly unlikely that the show will take place in August as is tradition, however, the committee has been considering alternatives to cancelling the 2020 Show altogether. Among options is holding an event later in the year but this event might look quite different depending on what appropriate regulations we will be required to adhere to. As we, like the rest of the island, work through this unprecedented time, we are determined to celebrate the agricultural community of Skye one way or another.

Obviously, we don't know what government guidelines will say over the coming months but we welcome your ideas and suggestions for what this one-off event might look like. While we are disappointed not to be able to bring you the Isle of Skye Agriculture Show 2020 in all its glory, protecting our community and our island's NHS resources have to be our first priority. Anyone who wants to get in touch with ideas or questions can email:-
The Skye Show and we will keep everyone updated as things become clearer and our subsequent plans develop.

Your continued enthusiasm and support for the Isle of Skye Agricultural Show is hugely appreciated now more than ever.'
Mòran taing!

2019 saw the return of the Ore County Terriers, back on our programme of main ring events. Their terrier racing has proved very popular previously and we hope you all enjoyed it again. The Isle of Skye Pipe Band started our programme of events with a procession from the square. There was entertainment from the Highland Dancers and Sheep Shearing demonstrations. We also had the Crofter's Olympics, Skye It's a Knockout, Tug of War and Giant Pass the Parcel. In the Crofters Olympics was a team of 1 adult and 1 child who were competing for the 'Crofters Olympic Shield'.

As well as our usual livestock classes we were very excited to see the return in 2019 of our Poultry Section and saw many of your feathered friends in all their glory. As always we had our craft and cookery classes and were delighted at the projects you had been beavering away at in 2019.

In 2019 we had a time trial obstacle course for the kids with the two fastest competing for the honor of being overall winner
