The Service is free and provides confidential, and impartial energy advice which is available to all households across Skye and Lochalsh.

What does ALIenergy do?
ALIenergy (Argyll, Lomond and the Islands Energy Agency) is an independent and long-established charitable energy agency, originally set up by Argyll and Bute Council over 25 years ago. Its main areas of work are fuel poverty alleviation, energy education, and community energy projects. It has worked across the whole of Argyll and Bute since the beginning and more recently expanded activities into the Highland region also, with two local Affordable Warmth Advisors, Laura and Donnie covering the Skye and Lochalsh area

Mike Stradling started the company during the COVID pandemic when the country was shut down. As restrictions eased and life gradually returned to normal, He began promoting 'The Shoot' by attending fetes and organising charity shoots. The logo features the Stradling family tartan, which, as recorded in the Tartan Registry, is Welsh in origin. Each year, Mike entertains an increasing number of clients, hosting weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and even delivering to MOD sites for commemorative events and summer balls

Molly's Meals Skye

Molly's Meals is a home-based micro bakery on the Isle of Skye. Our baking base and wee honesty box (The Skye Trail Snack Stop) is based in the most wonderful village on the island (IN OUR OPINION!), Elgol ☺️

Based in the picturesque village of Elgol, Molly's Meals Skye is a home-based micro bakery run by a passionate team of three. Every loaf, cake and pastry is lovingly mixed, kneaded and baked by hand, ensuring every bite is packed with homemade goodness. ❤️

What started as just a few cakes, traybakes and loaves each week has grown into an incredible local success story. Today, they bake over 30 standard cakes, 3 custom celebration cakes, 40 loaves of bread and 100 savouries every week, supplying residents, visitors and businesses across the Isle of Skye. 👏

As well as keeping Skye well supplied with delicious baking, you'll often find Molly's Meals Skye at local markets and catering weddings, birthdays and other special occasions across the island. 🎂💍🎈

We are a community of pet owners and amazing pets brightening days and bringing joy to people in hospitals, care homes, schools and more.

🐶 Pets are pretty incredible. They give us unconditional love, without judgement or expectation. And they have a knack for knowing how we feel and giving us exactly what we need – even when we don't know it ourselves.
✅ In December 2024, the PAT Board of Trustees agreed our new five-year strategy. We developed a clear map showing how our activities lead to the outcomes and impact we want to achieve. This was informed by volunteer and establishment surveys, observing PAT Teams in action and many conversations with volunteers and the places we visit.
🛠 To meet our increasing demand, the strategy has ambitious targets for growth – volunteers, visits and income. We are confident that, with the support of new and existing volunteers and the establishments we visit, as well as the thousands of pet lovers across the country, we can meet our targets and provide many more people with moments of magic with a PAT Dog or PAT CAT.

Choir History
The Portree Gaelic Choir was formed early in the 1920s and has been competing at the Royal National Mòd for over 90 years less a few breaks for war years etc. The Choir currently competes in the Margrat Duncan Memorial Trophy and the Greenock Gaelic Choir Cup (" Puirt a Beul"). The choir won the Lorne Shield 13 times between 1930 and 1979 . Gaelic is still the first language for many people on Skye, and the choir along with Straths Gaelic Choir based on the south end of the island represents the island nationally at the Royal National Mòd and have won praise for their performances over the years.

As always the choir is looking for new members and if you are interested in singing choral Gaelic songs whether you are Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass, please come along to any of our sessions on Tuesday evenings at the Skye Bible Church , Bayfield Road, Portree, down the lane at the back of Boots the Chemist. Practices take place every Tuesday from 7:30pm till 9:30pm. Prior knowledge of Gaelic is not necessary as the Gaelic tutor will teach you the word pronunciations and meanings.

The choir practices are held on Tuesdays at the Skye Bible Church in Bayfield Road, Portree. ( just behind Boots the Chemist ). If there are any changes to the practices please consult the Choir News page. New members will be made very welcome.

We run a:
1) colony cat neutering project and can provide advice and help with trapping and neutering (funds are limited for vet bills but we’ll help where we can). We are licenced by Nature Scot for Trap/Neuter/Release where appropriate;
2) cat rehoming project - where we will foster and rehome cats on Skye. This is strictly limited by capacity, but our rehoming coordinator Jennifer Blair is licenced by Highlands Council for rehoming, licence number: MAU 019357;
3) wider cat education and welfare including advice and help sharing information about cats in need of a home

Skye Cats is a volunteer-run community group, launched in 2025, already working hard to make a real difference for cats across Skye 💚
We’re currently fundraising to help get our neutering programme fully up and running — a vital step in improving cat welfare across the island. All funds raised go directly to helping cats on Skye 🐈‍⬛
Our focus is a dedicated neutering scheme for semi-feral colony cats and their kittens, helping to reduce suffering, prevent unwanted litters, and improve long-term welfare. We also support people in the community who need help homing, trapping, or caring for cats in need 🏡🐱 ✨ Come and meet us at Skye Show 2026 Learn more, ask questions, or find out how you can support our work. Every bit of support makes a real difference 💚

🌈✨ We offer a safe, welcoming girl-only space for girls to try new things, help other people and discover their passions and talents. All while having fun with a ready-made group of friends!
